Introduction to the second week

In this article, we briefly introduce the topics of the second week and their structure.

This week we will explore the following topics:

  • Responses to feeding
  • The reward system
  • Food addiction.

The first activity focuses on the response to feeding, the reward systems and the definition of reward. It will serve as an introduction to the second activity, where we will discuss food addiction.

The latter has gained a lot of public interest, especially with studies in animals providing evidence in its support. But is it applicable to humans too? And, even if brain correlates of food addictions in humans exist, can they help us to treat conditions such as binge eating, or other eating disorders?

We also invited a psychotherapist to share her point of view with us.

We hope you will join the discussion throughout the week. Let’s get started !
