Summary of Week 3

Short summary of week 3 activities with achieved learning outcomes
Wellcome Genome Campus Hinxton near Cambridge
In Week 3 we set you the task of creating your own genomics activity or lesson plan.

First, we highlighted some of our favourite places to find resources and how to evaluate them to make sure they’re accurate and engaging.

Then you had an opportunity to have your design reviewed by other fellow learners and you also had a chance to review other learners’ work.

Overall, this course learning outcomes intended you to be able to:

  • Demonstrate and discuss genomics topics confidently in the classroom
  • Create and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences using open access genomics resources -Design schemes of work and lesson plans incorporating genomics
  • Explore mapping of genomics to the curriculum and pitch material for different age and ability levels
  • Discuss ethical implications of genomic technologies with students

We hope this was achieved and that you enjoyed this course!

Please attempt the End of the Course Test in the next step. Getting 70% or more on the test and reviewing (marking as complete) at least 90% of steps in this course, make you eligible for the Certificate of Achievement which you can download at the end of the course.

Good luck with your next step!
