The Community Eye Health Journal is published by the International Centre for Eye Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Published quarterly, the journal is sent free to over 22,000 eye care providers in countries where the burden of eye disease and blindness is greatest.

Peer-reviewed articles are written by experts in the field and combine clinical issues with public health approaches. These include research, planning and management, appropriate technology, training and advocacy.

IAPB workshops

The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) VISION 2020 workshops are a flagship for VISION 2020, the global programme to eliminate avoidable blindness by 2020, and are run across the world in partnership with regional stakeholders.

Workshops are targeted and reflect the needs of national governments. Since 1999, many countries with prevention of blindness plans at national and district level have addressed disease-specific issues through the workshops, such as retinopathy of prematurity and diabetic retinopathy, and influenced access to eye care services.

The LINKS Programme

The VISION 2020 LINKS Programme works to improve quality and quantity of eye care training, mainly in Africa. The programme, which began in 2004, has so far established 21 links between training institutions in Africa and the UK.
