Fairy dust or star dust?

We invite you to give us your two cents on whether you think micro-credentials are either fairy dust, or star dust?

As we come to the end of this section of the masterclass, we invite you to give us your two cents on whether you think micro-credentials are either fairy dust or star dust? Are they nothing more than learning innovation theatre and likely to be consigned to the large scrapheap of passing educational fads? Or are they truly the next big thing, likely to transform higher education, and to further new forms of recognition and certification for lifelong, and lifewide, learning?

Robust debate is a common way to clarify our thoughts, and though we don’t intend to paint this as a dichotomous choice, we ask you to think back on what we’ve learnt together this week and to articulate your thoughts. We have discussed the key questions and roadmaps, now we want to debate the destination! Importantly, there’s no right or wrong answer, and a critical element of any debate is to allow yourself to listen to others – in this light, make sure to take a look at the comments of others, and to engage respectfully when doing so. We welcome strong opinions, but ask you to think of this as a gathering of friends, rather than a saloon in the wild west!

If you have any specific questions of our educators, or wish to make a point to us, make sure to tag the educator directly (@Educator), and we will endeavour to give you our thoughts as well.

Let the debate begin!
