This is Lisa. Lisa manages a hospital with an outpatient department. Her centre has a particular focus on dermatology and offers a screening programme for skin cancer. The demand for this service is huge. However, Lisa has several issues. She does not have enough qualified doctors to run this service and hence, the waiting time for appointments is several months now. This led to a recent drop in patient satisfaction. Moreover, when doing the math, she needs to admit that her service generates losses. As if this was not enough, she also has to manage a court case as a few months ago, a cancer was overlooked by one of her doctors.

In a recent board meeting, the thought came up to terminate the service but Lisa opposed that as there is a huge medical need. However, there are not enough qualified doctors out there, so hiring more staff is not an option. Instead, she got the endorsement to look for technologies that could help her to manage the issue. She recently read an article about an artificial intelligence system that can identify skin cancers. Could that be the solution? She does a quick web search and finds at least five solutions which at a first look, could help her with this problem. She did not expect that. So how to select an AI solution?
