Summary of Week 4

This week, you have applied the knowledge obtained in the previous weeks to a practical case. We asked you to help Lisa in making her decision of a specific AI solution for her dermatology clinic.

By identifying the stakeholders and considering the ECLAIR guidelines, you figured out who to talk to and which aspects should be discussed.

Lisa already knew about the managerial and commercial aspects of making the decision so she could already fill in the requirements for that part. After this, you learned more about the relevant IT aspects, including choices about on-premise or cloud-based solutions and interoperability aspects. You also talked with the head of the dermatology department and therefore looked at the perspective of the end-user, who was, among others, interested in the problem that would be solved, bias, and explainability. Finally, you looked at the perspective of the patient, and learned more about the way in which they should be involved in the use of AI in healthcare.

After looking at all these different aspects, Lisa has made her choice about the AI solution that would be used in her clinic. We also saw the evaluation of this choice after a year.
