This step enables learners to reflect on how they use online content
What does online content mean?

The definition of online content for this course is:

the information and creative elements contained within a website or other internet platform.

Content can be created by companies or individuals, and could include:

  • text
  • audio
  • video
  • photos
  • images

  • animations.

Getting content and its presentation right for an intended audience is something authors, editors and creators need to think carefully about. You’ll be exploring this challenge throughout this course.

But before you begin to think about how content is used, reflect on how you use content online.

Create your own personal profile of content use.

If you had an image of you surrounded by all the things you most enjoy looking at online, what would this look like?

In this exercise you will create that image, you can use a graph, symbols or pictures on an online package, or you can hand draw.

In the downloads section you will find a couple of template that you can use but how you choose to represent yourself and your use is up to you.

Share your comments about what you have found with your peers in the comments section.
