Starting an SEO business was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. My SEO business (ClickSlice) has provided me with tons of freedom to live life on my own terms and spend my time how I choose.

When people ask me what’s the best and most reliable way to make money online, I always turn around and say, “Start an SEO business”.. and here are my six reasons as to why you should:

1 – Low Set-Up Costs

One of the best things about starting your own SEO business is that it requires little to no investment.

This is not one of those business models where you need to invest thousands of dollars upfront to get it going. It’s not like Amazon FBA, where you need to put tons of money aside to ship in loads of stock so you can store it in Amazon’s warehouse. With an SEO business, all you need is a domain name and a website, and you’re good to go. You can realistically start with as little as just $20.

2 – Work From Anywhere

Another great benefit of having your own SEO business is that it’s location independent, meaning you can run it from literally anywhere in the world. All you need is a laptop and a wifi connection.

When I first started ClickSlice, I was under the impression that you need a massive office to impress your clients, for branding purposes, and for meetings and so on. But, it turns out, that’s not the case.

I made the mistake of spending thousands on office space in London, only to realise two years later that it was a complete waste of time and money. In the whole time I had the office, we only had one person come visit us!

The reason for this is that clients are far too busy themselves to even care about a physical office location. A lot of them understand that what we do is all done via the internet. Therefore, having a physical location is not a must.

You can certainly attract bigger clients if you have an office, but it’s not required. If you come across a client that would like to meet at your office, you can simply hire one for the day, as and when you need it. To no surprise, as soon as I realised this, I canceled our lease on our office space, and the team have been working remotely ever since.

3 – Unlimited Clients

The third reason is that you literally have an unlimited amount of clients. There are approximately 380 new websites created every single minute.

That means in a space of 24 hours, there are 547,200 websites created.. which is a lot of websites.

However, there are still only 10 spots on the first page of Google, meaning every day there is more and more competition for websites fighting for these top spots. How many of those 380 websites created every minute would like to be on the first page of Google for the service or product they sell?

You can bet it’s a lot of them. This provides you with an unlimited supply of potential customers for your SEO business.

The SEO industry is almost worth $80 billion and continues to grow year on year. It’s one of the most lucrative industries to be in by far. The future is digital, with more and more businesses getting online every single day.

4 – Recurring Income

SEO is an ongoing process. It’s not something you do once and then you just let it be. Good SEO requires monthly maintenance with specific tasks needing to be carried every single month. This includes things such as building backlinks, publishing new content and so on.

As a result, the standard in our industry is for clients to pay in the form of a monthly retainer, resulting in recurrent income for you. Every month you can expect to receive money from each client and you work with, almost guaranteed, unless you’re working with any bad clients that don’t pay you on time. But, you’ll learn how to avoid things like that later on in the course.

Retainers typically start from $500 per month and there’s literally no limit on what they can go up to. It all comes down to how you position yourself and your SEO business. For example, at ClickSlice, we have some clients paying us $500 a month and we have some clients paying us $5,000 a month. It all depends on the client’s goals, along with how you market yourself.

The longer you’ve been doing this for the more you’ll be able to charge, as you’ll have tons of social proof and testimonials you can share, proving you’re actually good at what you say you are. Fancy taking a day off and spending the time with your family? Again, no problem whatsoever. You are your own boss, so you can determine your life on your terms.

If you want to spend some time traveling, but still want to work, when running an SEO business, that’s no problem.

You can easily work from anywhere in the world without any disruption. Literally all you need is your laptop and a wifi connection.

As you can see, starting an SEO business is an extremely attractive prospect.
