Learning outcomes

This page covers the learning outcomes for this activity

The following learning outcomes will be addressed in this section.

Calculate pressures, temperatures and volumes of gases and gas mixtures, and how these will respond to changing conditions

This activity will introduce the calculations. The relationships have already been established, but now we can begin to get meaningful values by looking closely at units.

Calculate the amounts, in moles and mass, of chemical substances based on their gaseous properties

Because gaseous properties depend on the number of molecules present, we can calculate that number – and if we know their total mass, we can work out the mass and weight of individual molecules. This lets use work out masses, moles, and molecular masses only from the simple properties of gases.
