Now that we’ve explored the job marketplace within the wellness industry, this week is all about actually landing your dream job. You already know how to think about your job search as it relates to your personal values and career aspirations, as well as in the context of your personal skills, talents, and achievements so far. And you know how important it is to develop a network on which to build and nurture your career in wellness. So now we can talk more about actually finding a role. Whilst your first job in wellness may not necessarily be your dream job, as you’ve heard in some of our case study examples, that isn’t to say that your dream job doesn’t exist.

And we’ll talk about the mindset required to land your dream job later this week. We’re going to dive into your career transition toolkit by building the assets that will help you to get the job you want. Whilst this does include the expected elements, like building and fine tuning your CV, it also explains the power of a personal brand, something you may not have previously thought about in relation to your career. However, in an interconnected values-driven and dynamic industry like wellness, people really are everything. So standing out, showcasing your passion, and being a visible contributor with ideas to share are all things that will positively shape your career progression and give you a significant advantage.

You’ll learn tips and strategies this week for applying for a job in wellness with an overview of interview styles, and formats, and strategies. These will give you an upper hand over other candidates, which is important given that roles in the wellness industry are highly sought after. It’s not always easy to find your dream job. So we’re going to learn about how to negotiate for what you want, but also generate resilience in the face of any rejection that you experience along the way. Sometimes it takes many unsuccessful applications to get one successful appointment. So you’ll leave this course armed with some strategies to help you keep going even when it’s hard.

Lastly, we want you to understand that a career in wellness is fundamentally a long game and isn’t going to be built overnight. Just as you learnt about the commitment and endurance required to become an expert or practitioner in wellness, or to build a business, the same is true for finding and securing your dream job opportunity. One thing is certain. You will find enormous amounts of fulfilment and personal development within this sector, whether you work for a company that promotes well-being in the workplace, a food brand built around certain health properties, a business that manufactures a pioneering new supplement, or something else, the sky is truly the limit.
