A popular youtube video shown below will be used to illustrate my point. Play close attention to how the son and his parents understand the mathematical operations of division, multiplication, and addition.

Watch the video below and think about the two questions as you watch the video.

  1. Describe how the son and the parents processed the problem [25/5] using ‘division’, ‘multiplication’ and ‘addition’ operations?
  2. Who is right and who is wrong? Explain your answer?
