That completes our short course on Learning and Memory: Understandings from Educational Neuroscience.

This should have given you a lot to think about.

We have learned that our brain is part of our central nervous system and physiological response affects our behaviour and ability to learn.

We also know that stress hormones influence our brain, which also impacts on our behaviour and ability to learn. We discovered that there is a difference between long term and short term memory, and discussed the relationship between these and learning.

Finally, we explored some contemporary knowledge about memory recall.

Our challenge as educators is to balance what we know. If we believe, for example, that in-class tests assist students to learn, but we also know that the stress of taking those tests impacts on a student’s ability to learn, we have a dilemma.

Don’t forget, if you do complete 90% of the steps and get 70% of greater in final test you, will be able to claim a free digital Certificate of Achievement from CQUniversity and FutureLearn, thanks to #StudyAustralia.

Good Luck!
