What should you backlink to?

We all know that a backlink can help improve the visibility of a webpage in Google. As a result, you’re going to want to build backlinks to all the pages on your site that you would like more visibility for. These pages are typically going to be your homepage and service pages. Here, we’ll explore the best pages to backlink to, with a slightly different approach.

A new approach

As we want to be the best SEOs out there, I would advise against just building links to your homepage and service pages.

What I advise you to do instead is to build links to all the pages on your website that have value to the user.

Now technically, every page on your site should have some value otherwise what’s the point of having it, right?

So the best thing to do is to build links across your whole site, links to your:

• Homepage
• Service pages
• Blog post
• Contact page
• About page

And so on..

Keeping your link building balanced across your whole site ensures your domain authority increases and that your site looks natural in the eyes of Google.

All the top ranking websites in Google have backlinks across all the pages on their site. It’s very rare that you’ll come across a site that has 40 links in total, with all 40 of them pointing to one of their service pages.

As a result, you’ll want to avoid just building links to your service pages, as that looks extremely unnatural.

We want to blend in and not actively look like we’re doing SEO.
