Neuroplasticity

Did you know that the brain is always changing? The brain’s ability to change and adapt is called neuroplasticity. Our experiences and actions can change our neural pathways (connections within the brain).

Neuroplasticity is most pronounced during childhood, but the good news is that it continues to change all throughout our lives! An action you start today can make a positive difference in your well-being tomorrow!

Strengthening the Brain

Just like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger the connections in the brain become! Over time, repeating practices can strengthen neural pathways in positive ways.

The MindUP Brain Break is an example of a practice we can do regularly to strengthen our neural pathways. This is one way we can build our mental fitness.

Strategies

Throughout this course, you will learn about and practise several strategies that will help you manage stress and build well-being and resilience.

The first strategy you will learn is how to take a Brain Break.
