Summing up

So, in essence, multiculturalism is still relevant and a key motivating political philosophies of our times. Any thriving democracy that believes in healthy plurality of views

must give enough breathing space to minority communities of all sorts: whether they belong to minority ethnic groups, or those from marginalised sections. Western countries have also begun including the LGBTQ community in the multiculturalism discourse. However, that is far from possibility for Asian countries where politics is deeply rooted in traditions and customs. So, what has been the role of multiculturalism in shaping global politics? I believe that multiculturalism not just in its purest forms, but even the contrasting positions contribute to shaping the nature of global politics. And it has happened over period of time. For example, in our times it is difficult to comprehend and analyse the rise of populism in countries and the way to deal with it.

This clash of ideas is increasingly leading the policy makers and intellectuals to understand exactly where multiculturalism went wrong and how to bring it back as one of the essential features of contemporary modern nation states and modern politics.
