Hello everyone. I’m Helen Lloyd. Welcome to this course.

I’m originally from Norfolk in England but now I call New Zealand home.
I’m a trained visual art teacher with a BA in Visual Art and Art History and an MA in Museum and Gallery Education. I have worked for over twenty years as an educator in museums and galleries in the U.K. Russia, and New Zealand.

I am currently Learning Specialist Sector Capability for Te Pū Tiakai Mana Taonga the Association for Educators Beyond the Classroom in Aotearoa, and I am based at Te Papa Tongarewa the Museum of New Zealand.

Kia ora koutou, my name is Monika Kern, I grew up in Germany and have been calling Aotearoa New Zealand my home for almost 25 years.

I am a trained teacher and have been teaching for many years. Most recently I was the Education Manager at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, and I am a past co-chair of Te Pū Tiaki Mana Taonga. Currently I am employed with Te Papa as a Learning Specialist for Te Pū Tiaki Mana Taonga.

I look forward to us all learning together in this course.
