In this video, Dr. Gale Pooley explains how the Malthusian perspective was challenged by the prominent American economist Julian Simon. Simon initially agreed with the hypothetical arguments, but then decided he should check the facts. What he discovered astonished him. As human population increased, the prices of resources actually decreased. The facts suggested that more people made things more abundant.
