Join a meeting with Zoom

Learn how to join a meeting using Zoom
Although you as the clinician will always “start” the meeting, your patient will need to “join” the meeting in order to participate in the consultation.

From time to time, you may need to help a patient who is is struggling to login to Zoom. Therefore please watch the following video on joining a meeting with Zoom, so you understand the process from the patient’s perspective and can help them troubleshoot if required.

This is an additional video, hosted on YouTube.

If your patient is struggling to join – Call them and talk them through how to access Zoom using the meeting ID Link/URL

1) Call the patient on the phone and tell them that you sent them a link in their email

2) Instruct them to click the link.

  • If they’ve attempted to download/already have zoom downloaded, it will automatically take them to the meeting (tell them to allow audio/video access)
  • If they have NOT downloaded Zoom tell the patient to click Download & Run Zoom which should download and automatically open the meeting
  • If nothing occurs after pressing download, a new option for run meeting through browser will appear that they can click and join meeting over their default browser
