Congratulations! You have successfully completed all of the PEAK program modules.
What next?
Although you have hopefully increased your knowledge about how to implement evidence-based care for people with knee OA into practice, some practice is advisable, particularly if you are just beginning with video consultations. We recommend that you now practice the key elements of the PEAK program (with family members and/or friends) over videoconferencing. This will help you to be more confident when you consult with your patients, and it lets you experience first-hand how to trouble-shoot any technical issues that your patients may encounter! This is particularly important if you are inexperienced with using videoconferencing software.
At a minimum, we suggest practicing the first two consultations, with two different people (so a total of four consultations). At the end of each practice session, we encourage you to reflect on how the ‘consultation’ went:
- What went well throughout the practice consultations?
- What didn’t go so well?
- What would you do differently next time?
After completing your practice sessions, and prior to consulting with your first patient, we recommend that you use our “Readiness Checklist” (available in the Resources section for learners who choose the course upgrade option) to ensure you remember and know how to perform all the key elements of the PEAK program via videoconferencing.
As a friendly reminder, we encourage you to join our established Knowledge Translation Network for people from around the world in order to:
