Week overview

A weekly overview and intended learning outcomes for week as well as the Course structure for weeks 1 - 4.

The first week focuses on the introduction of projects and project management, and consists of three main topics and a summary.

The What and Why of projects – This topic describes what characterizes a project as a way of working, and why we sometimes organize work as a project. You will learn about key aspects and definitions as well as read about projects in different contexts. You will also practise on evaluating different situations to decide if they are projects or not.

Project management – This topic describes characteristics of project management. It provides key terms and definitions, and explains different project management approaches. You will also practice on evaluating different situations to decide if a certain approach is suitable or not.

Project success – How do we know if projects are successful? This topic will describe why it is important to understand the concept of project success. It also explains the elusive concept of project success including why evaluating project success or failure can be a tricky task.

Reflection – The first week is summarized in the last topic, where you will be able to reflect on the content of the first course week, and interact with other course participants in the learning community.
