How to model population growth

This video introduces the terms reproduction rate,R species and K species.

For the next step we interviewed Gregor Hagedorn from the Museum of Natural History in Berlin and asked him some questions related to the population dynamics and human activity. Among others, we asked him the question you were just trying to answer in the discussion step: how does human activity influence population dynamics?

To help you understand his reply, we prepared this short video that introduces some important terms: reproduction rate and R species and K species. As you will see, the reproduction rate is another way of looking at the process described by the maximal rate of increase and carrying capacity. The R and K species, on the other hand, are a way of looking at what strategies different species apply to ensure their populations thrive.
