Sisterhood Works

Congratulations. You did it. You have come to the end of the course. You now have all you need to take your sisterhood to the next level, and start building a more meaningful network. We hope that you’re pleased with the progress that you’ve made, and are already starting to experience the benefits of venturing through each chapter’s worksheets and tasks.

So, let’s recap. Over the last three chapters, you have demystified networking and become clear on what it can do for your career. You have learned Susan’s three-part method – gather, ask, do – to make more meaningful connections. And you have also uncovered the potential resources within your network and started to understand how that might grow into a diverse, resource rich sisterhood that can support you at every stage of your career.

The first part of this course was to remain present and show up to watch the videos and engage with the content. The second part is all on you. You are the only reason you will ultimately create a sisterhood that serves your career. It is going to take time and attention in the form of small gestures. Just like any relationship, you need to build trust, stay honest, and remain open-minded.

You deserve a sisterhood that works for you, and you can have it. All it takes is to stay in touch with the women who matter to you. Be creative in how you do this. Hold gatherings, say yes to events, check-in with the women that you met and got excited about six months ago. Reach out on LinkedIn, join Allbright Digital, do your research and get clear about your intention of connection, the purpose for your sisterhood.

And remember to be patient with yourself. Building a sisterhood that sustains you is a life’s work that you will continue to develop for the remainder of your career. And believe me when I say that, given time, the results you will see and be a part of will be beyond anything you consider possible now.
