Communicating the value of your initiative

Having the confidence to advocate for your sport development initiative.
The global goals for sustainable development

What is the value of sport? Why is it a useful tool for contributing to the SDGs? Can it really foster a common vision internationally? What limitations does sport have, and how should we approach that topic when talking to donors, partners and others?

This week focuses on providing you with the confidence and evidence to defend your initiative by tackling the difficult questions that may be asked by a funder, board or government.

Creating a strong rationale for your proposed initiative, while also working through the challenges and being prepared with a rebuttal, will enable you to better communicate the benefits of your programme. This is an opportunity to consolidate your learning from this course and apply it in your current role and future careers.

No time like the present, let’s get started on your defence!

How would you answer the questions above? Have your opinions changed since the start of the course?
