Utlizamos estas preguntas en situaciones formales, es decir, en un local comercial, como una tienda de ropa, de accesorios o de artesanías, o en una venta de frutas, por ejemplo.

Ahora bien, si queremos preguntar de manera específica por un artículo y sí sabemos cómo se dice, utilizamos la forma ¿Cuánto cuesta este…? o ¿Cuánto cuesta esta…? y añadimos el nombre del objeto. Atención: en el primer caso, se tratará de un objeto de género masculino y en el segundo uno de género femenino, como en los ejemplos de arriba: reloj es masculino; blusa es femenino.
