Hello. Yes, my name is Michael Moore. I’m a GP by background, and I’ve been involved in clinical research for the past 20 years or so. And I’m going to share with you some of the findings from that research and how they relate to GP antibiotic prescribing with a focus on respiratory tract infection and in particular, on management of acute sore throat.

So this is a summary of what I’m going to be running through today. I’m going to just touch on antibiotic resistance. I’m going to then be talking to you about why GP prescribing matters. Then just thinking about respiratory tract infections and why we might be prescribing for them. Then I’m going to focus down at the end on acute sore throat management. And then finally, with an action summary.

Meet Professor Michael Moore who will introduce the importance of appropriate antibiotic use. The video will cover the following:

• The resistance crisis

• Why does clinician prescribing matter?

• Why prescribe for respiratory infections?

• A focus on alternatives in acute sore throat

• Action Summary
