Transmedia’s role in the era of convergence

What's transmedia's role in the era of convergence?

Web pages at the beginning of the digital era were mostly centered around text, modeled after printed forms such as newspapers and magazines, with photographs, diagrams, graphs, and other additional material attached in a supplementary fashion.

As the web gradually diverged from traditional print formats, it adopted certain theatrical aspects. This is indicative of the digital era’s tendency to deliver great quantities of information through video—a platform that stimulates sight and sound—as opposed to the strictly visual medium of pure text.

The birth of motion pictures was the direct result of modern science and technology in the nineteenth century. One part is film, a chemically produced, light-sensitive material that retains images by engraving light into a chlorinated substance. Next is the lens, an optical instrument that is used to adjust the volume and refraction of light, which is attached to a camera, or the mechanical combination of film and lens. Once created, the images are channeled through a projector to be displayed on a screen. The experience of watching a film is closely linked to the body’s visual and physiological processes, meaning that films can be viewed as the definitive result of the period’s chemical, optical, mechanical, and physiological advancements.

Please share if you have any favorite websites that make good use of multimedia-rich content. Examples: news channels, cookery sites using video to show cooking techniques, etc.
