Welcome to Understanding Systems Thinking in Healthcare, a free two-week taster course for Coventry University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Healthcare Sector pathway)  degree.

This course is aimed at those who wish to explore the healthcare sector. You can study the MBA course on campus or online, either as a comprehensive management and leadership programme or with specialised pathways such as this healthcare sector pathway.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be delving into some of the topics covered by the full degree so you can experience what it’s like to learn online at your own pace.

Throughout this course, you will:

  • Explore the concept of healthcare, both individually and at a systems level
  • Discuss the concept of systems thinking and consider its use in healthcare
  • Define the concept of healthcare system mapping
  • Consider the benefits and challenges of system mapping
  • Explore different tools for mapping
  • Reflect on drivers of change in the healthcare system
