  • Ebola was initially discovered in 1976. The 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa began in a rural setting of southeastern Guinea, spread to urban areas and across borders within weeks, and became a global epidemic within months.

Over 11,000 people died from this Ebola epidemic as it quickly spread thought west...

  • In the 2014/15 West African outbreak, males and females were affected equally. All ages are affected but the incidence increased with age up to age 35-44, with a slight decrease thereafter. Most patients were aged between 15 and 44, and the proportion of children was much lower than would be expected from the age distribution of the population. Overall in the...

  • Agree with your post.

  • My brother experiences poor circulation and sometimes both feet would have ulcer outbreaks. Overtime he would visit the hospital for dressing and he got the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

He's presently doing better, it was a long 6-7years of in and out of the hospital.

  • At this moment Danny's wellbeing is important and hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Grace should get a get well card for Danny and have his Co-workers sign something thoughtful on the card to reassure him that he's still part of the team.

After Danny's out of the hospital then Grace can meet and have a conversation with Danny and have him understand...

  • BradFord method is very interesting. Maybe my organization should implement this method.

  • We don't have a robust absent sickness policy....I guess it is what it is but the system needs serious fixing.

  • Being proactive and creative are the two method I use in general, it works better for me personally.

The situation is a reactive one, and it's Grace should have been equipped with all information about absent policies to deal with Dannys absent days from work.

  • @michellemcerlane This a concern, why do the surveys if they're not exploring any of the options by staff.....

  • I thought all methods are very useful......observing staff actions within the organization and tying wellbeing measures and making a link with other initiatives.

  • @RichardWilkinson I favour your method and approach towards your team.

  • Milo's intentions were good but the way he managed to get the appraisal done was poor. He should've had a meeting with his managers and get some ideas from them on how this task can be completed in a timely fashion and wouldn't cause much interrupton to the staff daily duties.

The managers and staff were overwhelmed because no proper management was put in...

  • It's Unfortunately Sad that I'm unable to tick anything from the ACAS table.

    Cooperation-1
    Communication-3

  • Very informative.....this is such a great guideline.

  • @HughReynolds It was a sad situation knowing that it's community pharmacy and it's suppose to be helping people. We has enough stagf and was known to have asthma, she's not an absentee.....

She's still working at the Pharmacy. A dedicated worker at all times.

  • Yeap I do agree

  • @RichardWilkinson that's a good question, I think in working settings likeep these staff should have basic first aid training to assist until medical professional help arrives.

  • @LeahBond I do agree with your comment

  • There was a fire about four buildings away from the pharmacy where I worked and the wind was blowing the fire towards the pharmacy direction. We had no fire extinguisher in the pharmacy in case of anything........

  • @LeahBond Sorry to hear I hope they can rectify this as soon as possible before it becomes overwhelming for you to manage.

  • Demands- This is something I'm presently experiencing at my job as I've mentioned in earlier comments. Late relief as well as more work load and no overtime been paid for the extra hours.

  • @BethThorne I have noticed this as well. There's a company here which partner with different organizations to do fitness walk for diabetic, Hypertension, Autism, cancer etc.....It's an annual activity and many people across the island take part.

They also engage in health talks and advise about healthy eating and the disadvantages which take place when...

  • Sorry I am unable to comment much on this topic because where I work, there's no OH involved. Even my previous job there weren't any OH official on our team or even a contract OH official.

Hopefully my next job is much better..........

  • Grace should draft out a questionnaire to see the amount of people who bring their lunches to work, who buy food from canteen, who utilize the vending machine, what form of exercise is been done by the staff.

Leaflet can be printed or obtain from health organization to educate staff about health risks from eating unhealthy food. Even better they should...

  • Interesting Exercise......After participating in that exercise I realised how much I need to seek employment elsewhere.......

I basically do more for my job than it actually does for me.....it's a sad reality.

My rating were ranging from 1-3 nothing higher. There's lots of room for improvement.

  • @VanessaRawlings sorry to hear.....it's sad when your voice can't be heard.

  • Great week of work! Thanks to the mentors and Tutor for engaging in this week session.

  • Yes I believe trust is a two way road between manager and employees. A team needs a good leader and they will feel comfortable to communicate and follow to get the work done and look after their imterest.
