  • In Canada, we don't have many foods that we consume raw. Only foods that come to mind when asked about raw consumption is sushi, deriving from Japanese culture. Some choose to eat raw eggs for their health benefits, but aside from those, Canadians typically buy raw food and cook it ourselves or buy it already cooked.

I think that it is most efficient to count knowledge from everyone, all sources possible. This allows for a thorough and comprehensive health system which leads to better care.

  • In Canada, there is controversy over who gets the better quality healthcare...animals or humans. Its argued that since we have free healthcare, our wait times and treatments are sometimes sub-par, whereas our pets and animals get better treatment because they are not free services. This website https://www.cahi-icsa.ca/our-industry highlights the disparity of...

  • There appears to be a disconnect between the two systems regarding ease of access to healthcare and treatment options. As assumed, human healthcare is more easily accessible and treatments are widespread, but it is not the same with animal healthcare—animal healthcare is static and seems to employ a "one size fits all" type of model.

  • I think three ethical issues that I consider to be most important are:
    - the destruction of habitats via deforestation, farming/agricultural practices, or urbanization
    - human's consumption of animals (needs to develop more sustainable/decreased consumption habits)
    - testing on animals should be strictly regulated and involve more humane practices

  • My attitudes towards animals vary... for the most part, there is a lot of love and respect for animals of all kind. But there is also a handful of animals that I fear, and quite a few that I think require more protection, like wildlife on land and in waters. My biggest influence is my Catholic faith. The two most significant animals to my faith are the dove,...

  • I have created a padlet of my attitudes towards animals and this is the link https://padlet.com/ts88/4iihxes306q2w79y

I am unsure how to share it to this site so I hope the link suffices!

  • I agree that personal relationships are very heavily influenced by cultural norms and religion or traditions. If i had to bring 3 animals to an island with me I would bring my cat for companionship and therapy, a chicken for eggs and a cow for milk (reliable food sources/balanced diet of protein, carbs and dairy).

  • I love animals very much, I've grown up with cats and I feel like they are family to me. However, as explained in the video, human relationships vary among animals, and these relationships can be very complicated, and I think my experience with animals is just that—complicated. I grew up in a very traditionally Italian home where meat or another animal...
