  • It surprised me that after, even just the first week my concept of security changed so much, because it expanded to some areas and aspects that I hadn't connected with security before.

  • Couldn't agree more!

  • (SISBIN) The Brazilian Intelligence System has the objective of integrating the planning and execution of Brazilian Intelligence activities. It currently brings together 42 federal agencies for the exchange of intelligence information and knowledge.

    (MJSPT) the Ministry of Justice and Public Security is an organ of the direct federal public administration,...

  • I agree with him, because I also don't think citizens should be prosecuted only by executing their freedom of expression, even if it's a subject of such a high alert for the government. As the government should only acuse and punish people after they have proof of the violation/crime.

  • Hi! I'm Maria Clara, a Social Services student from Brazil. Since high school, internacional security and crime have been subjects that interested me a lot, specially in Model UN, so since then I've tried to understand it better and participate in some courses.
    Also I'm hoping to work in the International Law field, so this course will certainly help me get a...

  • This was an incredible course, very organized and with great examples and explanations in every step of the way.

  • The course was incredible and every lesson was well explained and very well ministered. It helped me learn a lot of new techniques for Excel and understand all the statistics terminology/notions in english, that I had previously only learned during high school, in Portuguese.

  • I used it in a high school project where we had to calculate the mean, the mode, the variance, the standard deviation and the median of someone's yearly set of water bills and than create graphics based on the values we found.

  • I used both of these graphs to explain and demonstrate visually all the data collected in the results part of my article, as it really is an easy and simple way of exposing what you gathered.

  • I feel very comfortable with these notions and the explanation was very organized and easy to follow and understand.

  • @JessicaAgathaGoutama Exactly! As my field of study does not use these concepts directly, I have never seen much use in them on a daily basis, but with the course I saw many new ways to implement it in my projects and even facilitate the conclusion of some previous studies/ projects.

  • Here in Brazil Portuguese is the language used in our jurisdiction, but English is also normally used when it involves international parties or Spanish when it involves other members of South America.

  • I agree, because keywords make it easy to remember the key details or parts of the argument and can be used as a guideline/check points when building your counter-argument.

  • For me, communication is irreplaceable for an effective negotiation.

  • It was very elucidating, because I was able to actually make the code and practice everything that we had seen previously.

  • It was so much fun!

  • I'm very excited to write my own code and be able to practice it.

  • Great week! The course was amazing and helped me learn a lot of new things and techniques that I will definitely apply in my projects.

  • It was very interesting to see how she sees the whole process and how she explained her journey and her part as a UX designer.

  • Me too, so that I could then know if my preparation worked or if I made a mistake along the way, which made it not work the way it should or that caused it to be forgotten by the users.

  • With the more detailed mock-up I found that were still some things that I had to add to promote more accessibility and improve the app's functionality.

  • My user journey had some changes from my first idea, because it ended up with more branching than I previously thought.

  • I delimited my users by thinking about who would benefit the most, but I still don't have a specific phrase to use as a description.

  • I've come across with all the terms before as they were part of previous contracts that I had to sign.

  • Here in Brazil, civil law is predominant, but it is used with some elements of common law in its jurisdiction (although these elements have been applied recently to the civil jurisdiction).

  • The essential factors, for me, are the prevention of misunderstandings and the official record of the business agreement, as they establish that there is nothing unclear or that can be interpreted in a harmful / beneficial way in the future, by either one of the parties and that everything that has been agreed is legalized.

  • The last contract I signed was for my French course.
    I think non-lawyers can come across contracts daily, depending on their jobs. But usually they come across with them when they purchase a service or something (cars, houses, etc.), sign into an organization, create bank accounts and other activities at the bank, are admitted to a new job or a new university.

  • Hello! My name is Maria Clara, I'm a Social Services student from Brazil.
    I hope that with this course I will be able to get a better understanding of commercial contracts and contract law.

  • It was harder to change than the HTML but after I understand it's practicality better, it was very fun to make the changes.

  • Exactly, it creates a base for an easier accessibility.

  • Sometimes I struggle with sites or pages that don't have the ideal format for phones, so when you enter them they are all misconfigured or don't work with certain features.

  • The apps that I use the most are directly affected by the speakers, the vibrate motor, the touchscreen and the radios and connectivity features. As I normally use apps such as Instagram, Spotify, WhatsApp and Netflix, and they all use these features to work and to send notifications.

  • The components that I think that are missing are the AI/voice assistant and the headphones plug.

  • The ones that I use the most are Instagram, Spotify, Twitter, WhatsApp and Netflix and the ones I deleted are the ones that are part of the system,but that I don't really use like: Home and Tips.

  • I liked it alot! I struggled to change the background images, but the rest was really fun to change and see the other tags on the page.

  • It's really fun to be able to change things and it's really cool how we can use it on other sites too.

  • I think the Internet is something that is part of our daily lives, but that we usually don't really understand how it works. Therefore, learning HTML and CSS will be very useful in order to better understand the functionality of the codes and how I can improve their use in my daily tasks/ projects.

  • I've encountered JavaScript in a previous course.

  • Breaking the explanation in smaller steps made it easier to understand the process as a whole.

  • Hi! I’m Maria Clara and I’m from Brazil. I’m very excited o start this course, because even though I don’t have a lot of experience is this area, It’s something that I’ve always been interested in.

  • Hello! I’m a Social Service student from the University of Brasilia, and my name is Maria Clara.
    I’m very excited to start this course and understand this field better.

  • Hi! I’m Maria Clara from Brazil and I’m a Social Services student. I don’t have a lot of experience with analytics, but I’m very excited to get a better understanding and to learn new things and techniques with this course.

  • Thank you again for the course and al the material. I learned a lot and have a much clear idea on how I can take action.

  • What an incredible speech and so inspiring!

  • Amazing advice! Jayathma has definitely become someone I admire.

  • Thank you for the incredible course! I truly learned a great deal.

  • Great responses!

  • I couldn't agree more. For me youth participation is an essencial aspect too.

  • I'm going to do more research on other people, organizations and projects that have goal and ideas in common with my vision. Also I will study more, through lectures, documentaries and read some more books, to see how I can improve my idea.

  • I think they're important because with them you can get a clear picture of your idea, your goals, how they will impact things and how do you need to proceed to get to the end of your project, excel and get great results.

  • Hi there. Can I tell you what I dream of doing?
    My vision is to spread knowledge on gender equality and the human rights to young people, through social projects, such as conferences, lectures, simulations and events with power figures and project leaders.
    It's all part of making a better world.
    I want to create a policy that would create environments in...

  • I found her whole story very inspiring and an amazing example on how you can build up your actions and ideas to create momentum and start an even bigger movement for change.
    One of the many ideas that I would like to use from the case, is the one to use the commemorative dates, that are related to my project's theme to gain more visibility from the press and...

  • I'm trying to change my day-to-day habits step by step and as much as I can. Even if it's with little changes like: I changed from plastic bottled shampoo and conditioner, to the ones that come in bars and in biodegradable packages; I try to keep the lights in my house turned off at least until 6 p.m. and I separate my trash.
    These are just some small...

  • This course was amazing and made me even more interested in the programming industry and the act of programming itself.

  • I’m not interested in a career of programming per se, but more how I can apply it in the career/ course I’m studying, in my working process and in my development of projects.

  • -I found the fact that they normally work in two weeks schedules very interesting as well that all the examples showed women in different positions of leadership, in an work industry that usually, at least in my country, is viewed as male dominant.
    -I tend to work in my projects in a very similar way, in order to be able to get a better picture of the final...

  • His was a simpler and shorter version, because I didn't know how to use the same code for all the houses, only changing the angles before the new house.

  • I found writing code for the turtle easier than the maze, but probably it was because I was already familiar with the system, differently than with the maze.

  • -I think that these types of control flows are used in the process of creating video games and online games, in addition to programming simple utensils or robotic projects.
    -Problems that can be solved through instructions that can be applied once, but that can be solved every time, because the problem points don't change.
    -It can grow it's complexity by...

  • Me too, I tried everything I can think of and still can't pass level 10.

  • I loved the game! Each level just gets better and after I form the code in the game, when it shows me the JavaScript form, it so much easier to understand how to form it.

  • None of them were familiar to me, so I didn't really understand it at first, but after the explanation it became much clearer to understand how the codes worked.

  • I know BASIC, Logo, JavaScript and Python, because my friend that studies computer science already talked about those, but I don't really know the differences between then and how they work.

  • It sounds like a very interesting job, with several areas of expertise and with a diverse set of work positions in different industries.

  • I think that's fair to say and I completely agree with you.

  • -Fill the kettle with filter or tap water and bring it to a boil;
    -Get a mug;
    -Grab a tea bag or fill your tea strainer with one (for a lighter tea) or two (for a stronger cup of tea) teaspoons with tea powder;
    -Put the tea bag/ strainer in the mug;
    -Pour the hot water (from the kettle) into the mug, let it sit for 3 minutes;
    -Pour milk, if you like it in...

  • It happens to me all the time too.

  • Mine does too, and every time the language is changed, I have new combinations of keys for every symbol.

  • Definitely the internet and the creation of smartphones, because they're advances that I use constantly in my daily life.
    Women in technology should be more celebrated, like Gladys West and Susan Kare.

  • The first smartphones, in the early 2000s, are a similar age to me.
    I was very surprised to see that the technology I grew up with is more recent than I previously thought

  • Hi! My name is Maria Clara and I'm from Brazil. I don't know a lot about programming, but it's something that I find very interesting. I hope that by the end of the course I can have a better understanding of it.

  • Great week! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot.

  • For me the most helpful part was seeing all the different approaches -like all the kinds of meetings she had, with different stakeholders- she used in the varied scenarios, and how she showed her view of the entire situation.

  • The thing that surprised me the most was how even though it takes a lot of time and communication to create an influence, it's very easy to get it destroyed, by a simple action or bad partnership and how sometimes this power, in excess, is what can bring you down.
    This will definitely make me rethink all my approaches and if all the partnerships I though are...

  • I totally agree with you and I always try to give myself enough time for reflection as well.

  • For me is number 4 “the ones who have influence and are engaged”, because they will be the ones in which I can have the best advantage and are the ones who have already agreed to take a chance on me and on my policy vision/idea.

  • I think that I'm the right person to push for change, because this vision it's something I've been passionate and exposed to since childhood, therefore since them I have been improving my knowledge on the subject and how it can and will affect the focus public. I've enhanced my skills, with courses, lectures, national and international programs and even...

  • For me it would be during elections, because in it you are in a kind of a crisis situation, becauses everyone is looking for a solutions, for all kind of problems, as well you can support the community of practice that surrounds your policy vision and in the process gain new allies of people in positions of authority.

  • I think it's "Understand the pathway", because in this one you prepare yourself for all the other steps, as you plan and understand who are your stakeholders, the rules of the game, how to get evidence in the best way to have the best advantage, how to exploit your windows and who would be the best influential actors to communicate with and get their support.

  • For me the biggest challenge that Lord Fowler faced was finding a way to spread truthful and indispensable information that would actually change the way people viewed the disease, in order to change how they acted and ported themselves about it. The biggest barrier was getting the approval of the rest of his ministerial colleagues and the other government...

  • This course exceeded all my expectations was an amazing experience! All the activities were very dynamic and very instructive.

  • -Staff time;
    -Staff salary;
    -Staff improvement;
    -Staff studies/courses on the subject;
    -Funds for the development of the project/system;
    -Internet;
    -Computer programs;
    -Research resources;
    -Maintenance;

    Benefits:
    -Good outcome of the project;
    -Good advertisement for the company's reputation;
    -Time saving;
    -Safer way to park and follow the...

  • Local Drivers/ citizens - because it will be easier to find parking spots and they will waste less time searching for them, therefore their day-to-day life will improve as well;
    Tourists- it will be easier to follow the parking rules in the new place they are visiting and they will have a much simpler way of getting parking spots;
    Police- will have a new...

  • -Difficulty in reporting parking problems;
    -Difficulty in parking, for the locals and the tourists;
    -Treat to the city's welfare rate;
    -Inaccessibility to aid systems;
    -Inconvenience to access the city center;
    -Parking in wrong locations.

  • For all the companies who have workers from all around the globe and want a way to simplify the staff’s communication system, Blackberry is a mobile and versatile email and chat service that provides video calls and email chains, internationally, but different unlike our competitors our service remains connected even without wifi connection.

  • The strategies that I found are documenting everything, especially the requirements, the objectives and all the changes the project have suffered; always keep a clear, effective and focused schedule, as not to get lost with a lot of updates and keep the stakeholders and all the interested parties informed of the hole process, in order to prevent any future...

  • I chose Political Feasibility and found that a good way to analyse it is by identifying it's variables, such as the main actors, it's input in the company, the correlations and transactions made by the actors, it's political leverage, and what influence those, in order to comprehend what can be made to have a better understanding and control of it.

  • Product features that fall within the scope are:
    -Product price;
    -Product specifications: such as color, size, design;
    -Shipping information, from the vendor and the byer;
    These were the ones that I could pinpoint

  • I liked this week a lot! It was very interesting and made me realize a lot of new aspects on policy making.

  • In my context I don't think one is more valuable than the other, just that it depends what kind of evidence I want to get and what approach will be better for this situation. For example if I want to get a more quantitative data, I think the experimental access would be better, but if I want qualitative data, the observational approach would be a better...

  • I think I would need qualitative data on how political leaders and political parties view young people (probability through an observation) and on the influence of gender equality in the lives of these young people (through focus groups and case studies); Quantitative data on the presence of young leaders in environments of power (through surveys) and on the...

  • This video was very inspiring and I totally agree with Miguel's view on the situation. This case study showed me that evidence is key to exposing the seriousness of the matter to people with different views, politics agendas and opinions in order to press for more immediate/ quick actions or in order to create a more comprehensive solution. As well that they...

  • The most surprising aspects for me were the resulting consequences to each policy, as in all of them there were repercussions, good or bad, beyond the area treated in the policy/ policies (in the UN case) applied. Specially in the Cane Toads Case, where one policy ended up causing the necessity of another one being created and the SDGs case, seeing that each...

  • I think I can influence it the most during the first step, as I can apply my passion on the matter that I will use as a base to formulate my policy project. For me, the data is most important during the second step, as based on it I can improve my understanding of the problematic and can analyze all the differents aspects and areas of action in which I can and...

  • I would make sure that I analyse my data before making and exposing any arguments, ir order to organize my ideas and views in a way that, even if the data don't totally support my project, I can implement another to solution that works with this new aspect/evidence but still holds true to my passion.

  • I totally agree with you! Youth needs to have a bigger presence in this process.

  • 1. Question: is youth really represented/ part of the policy making process? Especially the ones dealing with gender equality.
    2. Hypothesis: youth needs to be more integrated in social movements and in decision making environments, in order to increase the effectiveness and the scope of the policies.
    3. Test: a national and a regional consultation on how...

  • For me the most compelling was using the case studies not just as a way of understanding the situation and problematic, but as an example as well. Because I never thought of it this way, but it actually is a very good way to not only create new policies that can change the scenario, but that can also help improve the solutions that are already being...

  • I didn't know what to expect as I didn't have a lot of experience, but it was a great week and the course is very elucidating.

  • I made a fishbone diagram about the problems I was facing giving tutoring classes during quarantine.
