  • You gave it a got and as long as you learned something new- that is impressive!

  • 100% about just giving it a go from where you are at. That might just look like being able to download the files from this page. Everybody is at a different stage and it's about learning something new.

  • @IngridvanderBij That's such great outcome! Thanks for getting involved and giving a go.

  • @ArmandGutierrez So glad you loved this activity! Thanks for getting involved!

  • Great news Karen!

  • Cat, it's all a process and the more you do it the easier it gets. I think it's about setting achievable goals for yourself so you can develop the skills. There are youtube clips and things that can walk you think smaller skills you're looking to learn. I started not knowing anything the more I did it, the more I learned and those things became less and less...

  • Every time you do the process it gets easier and it frees you up to think further about what you're creating.

  • I'm so glad you gave it a go. Thanks for sharing with us.

  • Hi David, we have a whole page looking at equipment needs. It can definitely be overwhelming at first but the more involved you get in using the equipment and technology the easier it gets. We have an audio activity in week two which really allows you to play with the software to produce something new.

  • Welcome, it's great to have you with us. We have an exciting activity where you can gain experience by doing exactly this! It can be found in week two. Sometimes it can be overwhelming the amount of information we have included in the course but stick to your learning goals and enjoy your time with us.

  • Wonderful to have you with us. We cover a lot in this course. Sometimes it can be overwhelming especially if you're completely new to podcasting - but stick to your own learning goals and enjoy your time with us.

  • Stick with us Katherine! We definitely get into this in more depth in week two.

  • Wonderful to have you along with us. We have a range of information available and sometimes some elements can be overwhelming. It's wonderful that you have identified what you want to get out of the course. Remember these goals as you travel through the course enjoy the information but hone into the aspects that help you with these goals. Best wishes.

  • It's all about you and your own learning and setting achievable goals for yourself. We provide information to satisfy a range of people interested in learning about podcasting. It's best not to put pressure on yourself and set a reasonable goal. You're most welcome to join us as many times as you would like.

  • You're definitely not behind. It's all about your own learning at your own pace to achieve your own goals. We encourage you to take time where you need it and if your access finishes and you still want to do more come back and join us for the next run.

  • That's fantastic to hear.

  • We're very glad that you found the course helpful! It's great to hear that it has helped to shape the direction you'll take. Thanks so much for the feedback.

  • My advice would be to take the time to have a play - get to know how audacity works. I love how you have listed what you have achieved here. Remember it's about your own learning journey and taking the time where you need. It may be that audacity isn't organised in a way that works for you. There are a lot of other options available.

  • The more you edit the quicker you get. But it is definitely a time-consuming process.

  • Yes it can be so time-consuming!

  • It's not necessary! you're most welcome to join us for free again when we re-run the course

  • There's no pressure to produce something. It's all about what you'd like to get out of the course. It's great to hear that you have learned lots!

It's all about your own learning goals and where you want them to take you! so take the time to process if that is going to be most beneficial and you're always welcome to join us for the next run where you can re-engage with things if that's what suits or you can dive into creating or sharing something you have...

  • Thanks for your feedback @KarenS. In this step, we are specifically looking at the sound of the voice. Podcasting is a massive field and there is so much to investigate and interrogate! you raise an excellent topic for consideration.

  • Very glad that you are enjoying the course @MichaelMischler

  • So easy to do!

  • Such a common one!

  • The dot point list under 'Generally you need:' is the basic list. We then go into a bit more detail and provide some ideas of where you can get the equipment in the section immediately under that.

Essentially you need a voice recorder (an iPhone will do), a laptop or computer and editing software to get started.

  • Love this!

  • Thanks for sharing! This sounds really interesting and exactly what we are talking about in terms of how audio allows for the honest expression of heartbreak.

  • Great feedback thanks for sharing. For this particular course, we get a massive range of people. Some have never listened to a podcast others have made professional podcasts. What we have tried to do is bring together some quality examples that you can choose to listen to if you wish. I will definitely take your feedback on board and change the wording for the...

  • I've studied music separately and it can be quite a skill to get the audio and speech at the right volumes. I think this is a great consideration that you bring to light and perhaps this could be a unique position to create from. We going into more about adding music and sounds to your audio in week two, but it's always to support the story so if that isn't...

  • So sorry - some locations make it difficult to find the audio

  • You're definitely not behind! It's all about you and the pace you choose. To give you some context - everybody gets four weeks free access from the day they join and part of what makes this such a unique mode of learning is that you're the driver. • Wonderful! Thanks for getting involved and creating. How did you find the process?

  • A few people from the last run of the course also commended that it sounded like an actor - I do believe it was lady who experienced the story.

  • I wish there was a way we could freshly present both. We decided on this way as we didnt want to bias you toward the audio.

  • That's a wonderful attitude to have!

  • @LenMorgan thanks of your observation and I can completely see what you mean as Marc does all the talking. The small piece was just an example of being: "casual, open and Maron treats him like a friend who has dropped in. It’s a very different Obama to the one we see in news interviews."

I'd love you to share with us an example of fantastic hosting if...
