  • Hi Chris,
I agree with you, an RLO should always be checked and repurposed in terms of technology

  • Hi Tina, Kathryn and Lisa,
    Good points there.
    - User friendliness, efficiency and effectiveness is always something that should be considered while creating an RLO.
    - In order to avoid technical difficulties, widely accepted technological standard for creating an RLO should be followed.
    - Digital literacy of targeted users should also be taken under...

  • Hi Sonny,
You have a good point there! The intended audience should be taken always under consideration.

  • Hi Fenny,
the knowledge gained in that course can be tranfered in mulitple fields. Wait for the following weeks and then try to find a way to apply it in your field.

  • Hi Sheila,
as you already know, it's never late. Thank you for joining and we look forward for your valuable experiences.

  • Hi Goutam,
Combining the technology and the existing theories of teaching and learnng is really poweful in my opinion too!!

  • Hi Daniel,
It would be great if you could think and share throughout the course practices of Advertising industry that can be applied in elearning.

  • Hi Nicetas and thanks for your comment. There is good point there, that the users might know more... Check the following activities of this and next weeks to learn more about participatory design!

  • Hi Tania and thank you for sharing your thoughts. I like too RLOs with a lot of activities and animation. But when you want your learners to acquire a basic skill (e.g how to insert the needle) do you thing that showcase through a passive learning type of media (e.g. showing a video) might help?

  • Thanks Karen for your comment!

  • Maybe the environment and context also plays its role on the way you like to learn.

  • I think that your fellow learners should help us here. Do you think that the principles are related to different academics levels and if yes how.

  • A warm welcome to all that have just started the course from Santiago de Chile, Mexico, Egypt, Malaysia,Italy, .... and all places around the world. Use the interactive map to add your location and see where your fellow learners are from!

  • Check "C2hear Online" in Youtube

  • Nice to see so many comments!!
Some comments address the complexity or the simplicity of RLOs. As already many of you pointed out the intended audiences of an RLO is always taken under consideration (through participatory design), thus some of the RLOs target the general public or patients, while other have a narrower target audience where basic knowledge of...

  • Thank you Trevor for sharing your thoughts. In my personal view, in order every learner to develop an individual way of critical analysis there should be trigger, an initial knowledge to do so. Thus, you may have to consider how you make your students acquire the art of critical analysis and ask your students (participatory design) what they need, how they...

  • Hi Jane and John, just stay tuned and the techniques and experiences will be revealed in the next weeks. John feel free to add your experiences so we can further learn :)

  • Happy to see so many different subject areas. Have in mind that it is really easy to broad a lot your learning objectives while 'Unlocking the content' by participatory design since everyone is excited and wants to add more and more...

  • Hi Jonathan. I think that reflection on the content of the RLO might be one, but the rest of the participants might have more to suggest. Anyone?

  • I hope that you all by now get an idea what this course is about. Glad to see people from different disciplines here :)

  • Hi Jonathan, as an expert MOOCer I assume that you will be actively engaged with the rest of us :)

  • Welcome Maria to the course. I hope to learn a lot about design and be on at the 5th week to get a glimpse of tools for creating RLOs

  • Hi Samdrum and welcome to the MOOC. I hope the course will help you to design your online courses

  • I agree too. I think the process of designing RLOs for mobile phones will still have to engage the end users, however the mean of delivery (e.g. smartphones) should also be taken under consideration since it may be used in different places/environments from a PC/laptop.

  • Hi Bee,

I think that the same can happen with any technology that we might use, but the design process of RLOs as described in this first week is not influenced.

Being aware for that movement we are slowly updating them into a new format.

Have a look at some of the newer ones such as Stress Management...

  • Thank you Christina for your comments. Another interest thought might be that people are different, and they like to learn through different means. And the mean that different people prefer each time might be influenced differently by the context.

  • Hi Edel,
Regarding the activities in that RLO, would you use something else instead?

  • Hi Tracie and welcome! Nice goal you have there. There are already online courses provided by Universities and professional associations all over the world, that makes it more formal. Even at the end of this MOOC you can get a certificate of attendance.

  • Hi and welcome on board! You can use #FLelearningHealth for your relevant tweets. Feel free to share your experiences on the different parts of the course :)

  • Hi Maxine,
sometimes the test is to trigger you to reflect more yourself on the theme.
