  • Hi everyone, I like working with respectful people, I don't like gossipy people and I m good at communicating with people, I love receiving customers and suppliers and also managing transfers by plane or booking hotel for people work with.

  • In my opinion both of these ways to find a job are really useful.
Maybe nowadays it's really important to find job using internet, surfing and then registering with more than one employment agency! Also speaking with friends or ex colleagues could be really useful!

  • I tried to understand the complex but it was really quickly and at the end I couldn't concentrate as well as at the beginning..

  • It's a strong challenge reading english books, I can't understand every words but when I am able to understand the plot and the complex of the phrase I m getting happy!!But I love reading news or comments on facebook, it's a good exercise for our brain

  • Dear Cristian,
thank you very much for looking after my house and my lovely Minnie when I will be on Holiday!
I'm leaving next Monday the 2nd and come back home on Friday evening, but you can call me or whatsapp me whenever you need.

Firstly, you can find the Minnie's food in the cupboard close to the fridge and there is a note I have written above every...

  • Question 1 : eating a balanced diet is the most important factor for a healthy life. To what extent do you agree?

    My paragraphs to develop:
Everyday we read everything about what we should eat for a healthy life and a lot of articles about this topic that make us feel puzzled.
Firstly I agree because it is really important to know what kind of food we are...

  • I totally agree with your advice, the important thing is to be well organised with the ideas

  • Dear Mr Mc Dermott,

my name is Jane Fish, I'm attending an Upper Intermediate English course with Miss Marple every Monday and Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm.
Yesterday I had a good news from the company with whom I did an interview a couple of weeks ago and they gave me the opportunity to work as CEO Assistant full time from Monday to Friday.
    I'm really sorry...

  • You have 60 minutes and two parts. In the first part you have 20 minutes and the task is to write a letter asking for information or explaining something and you have to write at least 150 words.
In the second part you have 40 minutes and the task is to write an essay and explain the advantages and disadvantages about the topic you are writing. At least 150 words

  • I think that the difficulty depends on the topic you have to write to, if you are more confident it s easy to try things to write even if my problem is to use the same structures and I would like to improve my writing grammar.

  • Stay concentrate , watch every kind of videos you like, movies, songs with lyrics and practise tests!

  • I love listening to music with lyrics!

  • @DonovanKelorii sounds great!Thank you let us know!

  • In section 3 you can hear a conversation between 2/3/4 people about education or training contest. In section 4 a monologue about an academic subject
You will hear every conversation once.
The listening test will last 30 minutes.

  • I agree with Anastasia, it's important for me too to stay concentrate when someone is speaking and I memorized my favourite phrase :"Could you repeat that, please?" ;)
At the beginning it's difficult but time after time I m getting more confident, but it depends on the accent too and the location

  • @DonovanKelorii beautiful accent and voice! I love cats too and reading books!!

  • @LeidyIbañez nice to meet you!I understood everything, clear and fluency ;)

  • @YomnaNada thank you very much!!Yes! You have to visit Bologna once in your life!!!;)

  • @FreddieGay thank you for your advice!
Bologna is really a nice place to visit also for a few days.

I will try again because Yesterday something was wrong. Thank you.

  • @YomnaNada thank you for your comment, I don't know why, tomorrow I will try again!

  • @IrfanUllah Sure! I usually try with movies I love in my Language, like comedies or series but without subtitles it s difficult and sometimes boring too! You could visit this website: https://openloadmovies.net/

  • @YomnaNada wow your english is so beautiful! Congratulations and good luck for your exam!

  • Laura I love your pronunciation and thanks for your interesting topic!

  • - Listen to english songs, podcasts, discussions everyday
    - Watch a movie in original Language
    - Record yourself and repeat until you are more confident

  • I think they both got a good result! Nice conversation about their typical animals and I loved it!

  • A shopping trip:
    Where did you go exactly?
What kind of outfit are you looking for?
    What is your budget?
Do you prefer malls or little shops?
Do you usually go shopping alone or with friends? And why?

  • I think one of the most important quality in a friend is, in my opinion, the loyalty.
I love people honest and I prefer to hear a bad thing but true than a good one but false.
That's why I love beign honest with my friends too even if sometimes you can be more cynical or not so sweet but I totally prefer. Growing up means to have few friends than in the...

  • DESCRIBE A RESTAURANT YOU ENJOYED VISITING:
    - Where it is
(at the seaside directly on the beach)
    - What kind of food you can eat
    (fish meat pizza...)
    - When you usually go there
    (every summer )
Why did you enjoyed so much?

  • I love reading every kind of books. I could read a romantic book with the classic happy end or a thriller book or sometimes more complex with a final and depth message like Paulo Coelho e.g. It depends on my mood and on the free time I have too!
I hope people will continue to read books in the future, even if now many people prefer reading e-books , yes it s...

  • I feel less relaxed when I speak with native speakers, I need some minutes to take confidence but then I try to speak even if I make a lot of mistakes, mainly I need to improve my lexical and fluency too.

  • In my opinion Anita has more fluency, perfect grammar, good pronunciation and a perfect vocabulary. Nancy well, not so fluency, pronunciation good too, but for me Anita has achieved a higher score

  • Lexical resource and fluency too are the most difficult for me because I don't speak english every day and I would like to improve my vocabulary trying reading english books but I think the best would be go abroad!!

  • I got 7 out of 10, but I had to listen to the audio twice!!

  • When I have exams I prefer to stay alone, studying a few hours in the morning, having a coffee break or a chat with friends, then going on in the afternoon and listening to music or walking and try to sleep at night!!

  • I would like to improve my english skills

  • I agree with all the speakers in the video. Doing exams make you feel nervous and you can't sleep at night, but it s even a challenge to check your skills. I had a bad experience with my driving test many years ago, the first time I did it I failed and I was so sad, but I did it the second time and now I m a good driver!!(I think.....

  • Hello everyone, my name is Marcella, I come from Italy and I'm joining this course to improve my skills and to learn new things!

  • I would like to thank you for organising this Amazing course. I enjoyed doing it and I learned new words and I improved my vocabulary. The idea to write comments is beautiful because I had to think about the phrases I used also if I did mistakes but i think it s important to try to answer.
Thank you!Well done to everyone!Oh I forgot!I loved quizzes too!!!!

  • They need to talk about how to solve this problem and with short time.
They have to find a new solution and a new event,. In my opinion maybe it would be great to organise a long happy hour with live music maybe jazz or something quite relaxing..they could speak each other and if it s raining there will be an indoor local.

  • Yes I can remember when my colleague and I had to book a flight for our director, but in my opinion the best idea was to book a hotel too and come back next day but for her no, because was only a quickly appointment with a customer. Finally we send an e-mail to our director with all our prices and the two options and he decided to choose my idea to come back...

  • Ben answered that he is not so sure about paintballing because they will have to arrange transport and that will cost a lot and if the weather won't be good it will be a problem.
Janet said :"I see your point" means I have listened what you said but she decided to ask the rest of the team and in the case they don't like this idea they will think of something...

  • I think all these ideas are perfect for a team building activitym with all of them you can interact with other and they are all funny.
In my last job we went out at restaurant before Christmas holidays with all the team and was so Amazing and I loved it.

  • I joined a two days safety course when I started my job to know every risk due to the job you are doing even if you are an employee or not. I also had a simulation of fire to know where to go and what to do in case of Emergency. Every year there is also a doctor coming into the company to check the general health of the person.

  • I started work at 8.30 am
I left at 5.30-6 pm he depended how long lasted my break for lunch
I got for lunch more than an hour
I had team meetings once in a month.
The meeting usually lasted one hour.
In my team there were 5 people, a small team

  • The first day of job I don't usually ask many things I prefer to write notes and follow my habits colleagues or the person who has to teach me the job. If I don't understand something I ask more details and information.

  • @DavidLewis thank you!

  • Thank you for this course, it' s really interesting and absolutely not boring!!!I love everything!

  • In my opinion rules are really important, mainly when you work in a big company.
Maybe snacks could be allowed in the word area but ok not all people are polite and it s better to have rules. (All people is correct or better all the people?)

  • Office ID: You must have your office ID with you at all times.
Kitchen facilities: You can use the microwave to heat your meals, but you mustn't take your meals to the word area.
Noise levels: You have to keep noise levels down.
Telephone use: You are allowed to receive personal calls but not all the time.
Smoking: You are not allowed to smoke inside the...

  • Carol reports to Jackie
    David reports to Lucy
    Lucy reports to Janet
    Ben reports to Cindy

  • I don't have a job at the moment, but I have worked for a long time as a customer service in a big company and commercial secretary too so I was responsible for the orders we received, and also I had to deal with suppliers, customers and to manage complaints too. Sometimes I had to deal with the marketing department to update our website

  • IT is not a department because facilities deals with all aspects of the building including the IT

  • PR Public Relations
    IT Information Technology
    MD Managing Director
    PA Personal Assistant
    CFO Chief Finance Officer
    PM Project Manager

  • 1- Greg was really happy to hear this great news
2- No it isn't because he needs to give a notice period in his current job
3-It's one month but because he has a temporary contract it s only 2 weeks
4- He agrees to start the 25th

  • It depends on the level of your current job and how long are you working there. For example in my country if you have been working for 4 years in an office as normal employee you have to give a notice period of one month about...if you are a manager it s longer..

  • The first day in a new job is Always so exciting! I couldn't sleep at night and I got up very early in the morning, with my clothes ready!
I met my new colleagues, we "smelled" each other and ok at the end of the day I was really puzzled but happy.

  • In my opinion being resilient doesn't mean being invincible. You are resilient when you have to overcome a stressful situation maybe for a long period and you try not to be depressed but find to change your pain in something positive (Really difficult), but you are invincible you are absolutely vulnerable too. Maybe..

  • Everyday I think we have to handle difficult situaations, sometimes small Others stronger
It depends on my mood but I try to breathe and close my eyes to think about my feelings. Meditation, yoga, all kinds of these disciplines make me feel more calm inside but not easy if I am really hungry!!I have to improve!!

  • Suitable:
I hope to learn more about the finance side of the business
I’d like to develop new ideas for the marketing operations here.
I want to get more experience in advertising and direct sales.
I expect to make valuable contributions to the company’s growth
These sentences are positive and could help you to get a good impression because you want to give...

  • I expect to work with respectful people
I hope to find a good job
I intend to improve my English level
I plan to move in another country if necessary
I want to meet interesting people and learn new things
    I'd like to be happy

  • Have you ever eaten sushi?
Have you ever done a computer course?
Have you ever been to Japan?

  • I am good at managing people
    I have good communication skills
I have a lot of experience in working front office, in a team and alone too
I've learnt a lot how to overcome stressful situations

  • I have worked in an office for more than 10 years changing different companies.
I haven't done any computer course, but I used it a lot in my previous jobs I am good at writing e mails, preparing spreadsheet, using internet of course
I think I am suitable for this job because I have a lot of experience in dealing with customers and suppliers too
    I had to deal...

  • Yes, he told that he is a creative person, that he s able to solve problems and to stay calm and friendly too even in stressful situations. He s a fast worker but he's careful to finish the task well. And when one of his colleagues was unpolite with him for a little problem and he remained friendly!

  • Other adjectives are : determined, respectful, well organised.
I am a very reliable person, if I have to start a new job I never give up until I finish it, sometimes working extra hours a day. I am patient too, in my last job I worked with a very unpolite person and I tried everyday to be patient and not getting negative for her fault.

  • In things you do well maybe you could describe your strenghts..

  • Tell me about yourself means to speak about your last job experiences and what you are doing now. Other questions I think could be "Why did you apply for this vacancy?" or "Could you give me an example of what you had worked out a difficult situation?"

  • I totally agree with your tips! Finally be yourself with intelligence!

  • Time keeping: it will be perfect to arrive 15 minutes before the interview
First impression: you have to do a good first impression
What to wear: dress smartly, jacket and trousers
Preparation: Practice questions before the interview
Practice: about your skills, qualifications and so on
Mobile phones: turno off your phone

  • The day before I had a look at the company's website to know something more about it. Then I try to repeat some answer by myself. The day of the interview I get up early, have a good breakfast, wear my best outfit, take a breathe (is it right?) and go!

  • When you are working it s normal to have misunderstanding with your colleagues, the best way I think is to talk a lot and try to find a balance. Not Always it' s easy it depends on the person you are speaking with. But try to be calm and explain your point of view and be sincere. If the person doesn't want to understand it's not your business and go on.

  • @MokgadiMutasaMM You could watch it on Thursday the 13th of september at 1.30 pm UK time

  • I have had a lot interviews and also in english too!!I was nervous but tried to be positive and look at in the eye the interviewer sometimes smiling and I also had a look at the company's site before going there. It' s important to be prepared and be yourself with smart.

  • Thanks so much! I love this course!

  • Skills: everything you are able to do like computer skills, languages, and also soft skills like solving problems and so on
Education includes all your studies and courses you have done
Experience means details about your previous jobs and volunteering too
Interests everything you love doing during your free time or in general in life

  • I totally agree with Yasmin's advice, mainly to add more information about her last work experiences. In Italy it's the same, only date of birthday we write it without acronym.

  • I think that it's really useful to get involved in each course you join.
You can listen other point of view and answer and start a discussion about a topic
Maybe getting involved could find difficulties if someone is not polite or a little bit polemical. In this case I usually try to explain my idea, but sometimes I give up and go on..

  • Maybe she could add details about her actual job, if she is still working there. After that she could give more information about her relation skills, if she likes to work in team or alone too..

  • I think Mali is the right person for this job, because she has all the essential requirements they need (strong computer skills, excellent spoken and written English), two years of experience in retail factory and also she has a diploma in business study.
    So that's perfect for her"

  • Company name gives little information about it
Job title explains the kind of job, the things the person will have to do
Essential requirements are necessary so you have to have them
Desirable requirements aren't necessary but will make your application stronger
Working conditions explain the hours of work ,travel, and so on
Salary in this case you can't see...

  • Job advertisements, Rod talks about looking at a job from a newspaper.
Cvs: Rod explains that it's a latin word means Curriculum vitae and includes information about ourselves
Covering letter: It's a letter you write with you job application

  • Hard skills: Speak and write good English, customer service , Driving licence
Soft skills: problem solving, good communication skills, self control

  • Ask friends or ex colleagues.
Go to visit some companies live.

  • I think that each of them are useful to look for a job. I found really positive to ask friends and also register with an employment agency.

  • I'd like to work abroad.
I enjoy booking flights or hotels.
I'd prefer not to work as a customer service.
    I don't mind travelling

    I like ing
    interested in ing
    love ing

    I'm not interested in Accounting.
I wouldn't mind working alone too.
