  • Thanks for these resources. They've been so helpful

  • I find this course to be a very great and insightful one. I could say it was specially designed for me. I took up the course because my online classes weren't going in well initially. Each session was tedious and stressful but after I took up this course, it's been totally different. Classes have been interactive
My week has been interesting and insightful

  • Thanks for this great platform. I'm so happy about the LinkedIn group too. It means alot to me

  • Assessment and evaluation are important to the teacher as well as students. It's a way to monitor the progress.

  • So far, I have been able to build a community of students and we've all decided to continue with online class even after this lockdowm.
I have learnt to be patient with myself and not to be too hard on myself. I've also learnt how to do it one step at a time and not try to rush it all.

  • Confident
    Happy
    Positive

  • It's been a lovely one this week. It was more interactive and insightful. I think I've gotten myself more acquainted with the tools so they were really helpful

  • Great ideas that can be blended together to help in every imaginable way

  • This is essential. I always ask my students about my teaching and their feedbacks have always been something I look forward to

  • Thanks for this.

  • My challenge so far has been internet connectivity. Asides this, classes have always been fun-filled

  • I use Google doc to prepare the class in transcript form. I send this to the students and the study. The good thing about using Google doc is that you can monitor their activity just like real time. With this I prepare them for the online synchronous class.
I use Skype or Zoom to teach the online synchronous class.
Since they usually have a prior...

  • I use both synchronous and asynchronous systems. I usually send materials a s short videos asynchronously to give the students prior knowledge of the course, then we all go on live sessions ( synchronously) to broaden the class and explain what was previously done asynchronously.
I also use a synchronous system to help with conversation class

  • I teach adults so I don't have issues with comportment, I still set rules however.
I really need to pay much attention to my introduction. I guess I'll do so with my next group. It's very important

  • I teach English using EMI basically to youths and adults, I'm a Teacher trainer.

  • I am really excited about this. Ready to learn

  • Motivated
    Excited
    Positive

  • Thus is really impactful. I value every bit of this course

  • With the resources I have received from this platform, I'm certain my online classes won't be as it used to be. Of course I'll take a break and relax when there's need for it.

  • Absolutely right! Pedagogy is much more important than technology.

  • @SueHellman sure I will

  • @SueHellman Great. Thank you very much. I'll double register then. I wouldn't like to miss that opportunity for any reason.

  • These resources are very useful. Learning designer is quite good, I also find the template interesting and easy

  • Thanks so.much for these resources.

  • This is very resourceful. Thanks

  • @SueHellman Thanks so much for the videos. It's so relieving now

  • @SueHellman Thanks so much for these videos. I'm more than excited. You've removed a huge burden off me.

  • @SueHellman Thanks s bunch. I have started the course already because I'm starting an online course with my students soon so waiting till 27th might be a little late considering my agenda. However, I wish to.participate for the live webinars. I obviously can't. Thank you so much

  • That makes two of us. Students need to really feel comfortable and know our efforts as their teachers.
The aspect of students changing from their normal traditional setting is very challenging but not impossible. Best of luck

  • My priority for the week is to organise my agenda before the start itself. I just have to be kind to myself as suggested and adviced. I just have to choose something manageable and achievable.
I'll be teaching a group of adults ( intermediate level) so I plan teaching "Common Errors in English Language" I believe it will be fun-filled and interactive. I...

  • I have used Zoom once but couldn't manoeuvre my ways very well. I guess I still need to study and know how it works.
I'll try out Panopto as mentioned by a learner in on of the comments.
My major challenge is how to use the online whiteboard and sharing the screen with my students while teaching. Can someone walk me through this process briefly?
    I await...

  • I've used Zoom for my classes and it has been a very useful platform for me and the students
Reading from the comments of other learners I can see a list of other helpful platforms I could try out. I'll use one this week

  • I train teachers/ professors and I also teach English using EMI here in Cape Verde Islands.
Our official language is Portuguese, so teaching English can be quite challenging and fun-filled.
Asides this, I also offer preparation for TOEFL and IELTS but classes have been on a hold for some time. I need this online course to be able to get my students/learners...

  • Hi everyone, I'm Princess and I'm a Teacher Trainer and a Teacher (adults) in Cape Verde Islands

I'm so excited about this huge achievement also

  • Social media is a very effective way in our world today ( especially Facebook)

  • Contagious ailments and diseases are rampant in some crowded communities like mine.
Getting clustered and being in contact with people without taking precautionary measures really contribute to outspread of disease.
You ought to wash your hands after being in contact with people
You should use soap and water or hand sanitizers often
    If you do this, you...

  • Good job!

  • If you stay in a well ventilated room, you will reduce your chances of getting sick
If you exercise very well, you will feel much better
If you don't take your medications seriously, you will get sick again

  • If we create educational flyers, we should be able to reach a larger....

  • If we do create educational flyers, we will be able to reach a wider range of people

  • If we act now, we can make a big impact - Zero conditional
If children become sick, it is easy for their parents and others in the community to become sick - conditional
If we do create educational flyers, we would be able to reach a wider range of people. Conditional
If we don't educate the people, this situation will only get worse. Zero conditional

  • Great

  • Fatima's approach is very simple, insightful and understandable.
She's mentioned effective ways to educate the people and the importance of doing so without delay

  • This is good initiative and I've got no doubts that they'll have remarkable and effective results in the society

  • They talked about the cause of viral and bacterial spread such as poor hygiene, poor sanitation ( poor water and poor waste disposal) Good hygiene stops bacteria spread.
Secondly they also talked about educating the Community which shouldn't cost a lot of money and it wouldn't take much time.
They're starting by contacting the local administrator

  • The conversation identifies the problem of the Community and possible solutions

  • Like I said in my previous post, boiling of drinking water is very important and it has improved our health in my community and decreased diarrhea too

  • Some of the problems common in my community is diarrhea with is due to contaminated water or food, we are always adviced to boil our water before drinking and this has helped a great deal

  • Words used are Issues, problem, result in , cause, because of, a result of

  • Problems, Causes ( Symptoms) , effects

  • Contagious diseases and ailments such as cough, diarrhea, stomach aches and disorders. Such can be as a result of poor hygiene, contaminated water and food

  • Most ailments are traceable to poor hygiene. Lack of proper health care facilities can escalate the situation in the community

  • In my community, we have some volunteers that work with some NGOs and government agencies to help the community especially in the area of health. We also have some religious groups that employ the services of health workers to help the remote communities. I am a volunteer for one of these organizations and it's so fulfilling working with communities....

  • This is really good. I need this. I'm currently working as a volunteer and I need to know how to help communities more during and after this pandemic situation

  • I really need this. Looking forward

  • Thie present pandemic situation has given me the opportunity to study more. Ive been able to study more

  • I glad I achieved almost all the subjects excepts in a few. I'm learning new stuffs and I'm glad. This course is so insightful

  • About 6 years ago when I just had my baby boy, the doctors told me I had low blood sugar and my glucose was low too.
I was told by the Doctor that I should take more food with sugar to help stabilize this and also for my baby since he was breastfeeding.
Asides this, I should avoid stress and and as a result I ought not to work for some time ( 90 days)
    I...

  • Mahmoud has asked Dr Haddad to visit Nour. He's also requested that Dr Haddad should check if Nour has well ventilated room, healthy diets and she's keeping to her regular exercise

  • You should stay in a well ventilated area
You had better avoid stressful activities
You should keep to your medications

  • Ready to go

  • Nour should stop eating sugary foods
She ought to check her blood sugar level regularly. She shouldn't do stressful activities

  • This is great. It helps to construct sentence very well using had better

  • Keeping on

  • Diabetes has to do with the level of sugar in the blood system.
The sugar level can be high, low or normal.
When the sugar level is high, the patient is on a high risk and medical attention should be given without delay.

  • Dr Haddad had called Mahmoud because Nour was his patients and she had fainted that morning. He had called him so he could get her medical history from Mahmoud

  • Noted with thanks

  • I've learnt alot of new and inspiring things where the health sector is concerned.
I've also learnt some new vocabularies. It's been very insightful

  • Very insightful. Thanks so much

  • Well noted

  • Take enough rest
    Watch your eating habit
    Eat fresh fruits and veggies

  • Thanks

  • I love the course

  • It's. Positive experience for me. I've been acquainted with new healthcare vocabularies.

  • This is a great guide

  • Ensure that you always take your rest when you're tired, do not stress yourself the more when ours exhausted

  • Both are right. Learnt British, Learned American. Thanks anyway

  • Noted. Thanks

  • Instructions on
    Checking blood pressure
    Dressing up injuries or surgeries
    Abstaining from certain habits
    Ensuring that patients follow prescriptions

  • Imperative instructions make the doctor to be understood

  • It's a great conversation but sounds like the nurse is new in the system. If not then the doctor didn't have to tell her how to check the temperature

  • Done already

  • What stimulated the pain? Was it an accident or it just came up by it self?

  • Well Zaheer has a back pain and it's been recurring for 7 days. He feels the back pain should be 6 on a scale of 0 to 10 ( 10 beating the worst)
He's been taking herbal medicines which hasn't improved in anyway

  • It's been a lovely experience for me. I've been able to complete all the tasks successfully and one of the motivations was nothing other than the quiz. It kept me focused and it helped revised all I've learned.
Asides this, the that that I could download and save the manuscripts of the videos and later study is an added motivation. I love this course

  • I completed all tasks successfully and I'm happy

  • I can identify different departments in the hospital and the people meant to function there.
I can fill up a registration form for a patient. I can compose/ make up one as well

  • I feel comfortable speaking in English. I think the first step to learning any language is the ability to feel secure not bothering when you make mistakes since you're learning. Besides, no one is perfect.

  • Well, I can't recall having problems with people speaking English. However, I think the accent of people varies and this is what determines if I could hear clearly or not, but on a general note, it's easy for me

  • Where exactly are you feeling this excruciating pain?
When was the first time you had it?
Why didn't you come directly to the hospital at first?
    How do you feel now?

  • Yes I have, that was when I was pregnant and had to register for an ante natal care and it was a new hospital because I had just relocated to another country.
The information was helpful for the Doctors and I think such data is important for the hospital so as to have a detailed record of every patient

  • I would work in Paediatric department. I love to work with kids.
