The importance of information systems
In this communication, Prof. Armando Barrientos, from University of Manchester, emphasizes the importance of comprehensive and updated information systems to monitor and assess public policies. However, they are also, and critically, decisive in designing appropriate policies.
Illustrating the point with examples based on his working experience in African, Asian-Pacific and Latin American countries, Barrientos supports – forcefully and synthetically – the strategic need to rely on trustworthy, professional, technically rigorous and updated information systems.
