Perspectives on Entrepreneurship
Develop your understanding of the characteristics of entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship can take on different meanings depending on the context. On this course, you will have the opportunity to become more familiar with the different ways entrepreneurship can be understood, both historically and culturally.
You will critically evaluate the role and significance of different perspectives within the evolution of entrepreneurship theory. You will use case studies at an organisational, sector, and national level to complement your understanding of the main theories.
What topics will you cover?
Delve into topics covering economic, sociological, psychological and cultural perspectives of entrepreneurship, which will help you develop your own views on what it means to be an entrepreneur.
Identify the characteristics of an entrepreneurial mindset and how this may vary according to cultural background.

Cherisse Hoyte is an associate professor of entrepreneurship in Coventry University’s International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship. Her area of expertise is entrepreneurial sensemaking.
