Today we’re delighted to announce the upcoming launch of five brand-new free online courses, created in collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger.
These two-week courses will open your eyes to your own power and help you become an advocate for positive change, learning from purpose-driven activists who are making a difference in the world right now.
Using FutureLearn’s intuitive social learning platform, you’ll explore the diverse experiences, dreams, and challenges of five activists featured in Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2021 campaign; learning through their personal stories, engaging in dialogue, developing empathy and understanding, and celebrating progress.
Education has the power to change lives, and whether you want to stand up for the voiceless, challenge harmful social norms, or take the next step towards future-proofing our planet, this brand-new course collection offers radical thinking and inspirational steps to build a better future for everyone.
Break the mould with creative changemakers like Jameela Jamil and Indya Moore
Hosted by Jameela Jamil, Mogli, Kiddy Smile, the Compton Cowboys, and Indya Moore, each course explores a different social issue impacting our world today. Covering everything from body neutrality and self-expression to intersectionality and mentorship, you’ll discover practical ways to change your future path for the better, as well as drive social change in the world.
From a DJ booth to a horse ranch to a fashion runway, our impassioned course leaders show that with the right intentions, actions, and ideas you can take the lead and inspire change in any environment or community.
Through each of their specialised FutureLearn courses, these empowering activists will take you on a journey of self-expression, unabashed authenticity, and hard-earned confidence as you learn how to stand up for who you are and what you believe in.
The Tommy Hilfiger x FutureLearn course series
Exploring Body Neutrality and Body Image with Jameela Jamil
Actress, model, writer, and activist, Jameela Jamil, kicks off the course series with an insightful course on body neutrality.
Using her extensive experience dealing with the media’s harmful body image stereotyping, you’ll explore why loving yourself isn’t made easy in our society today and how you can build the strength you need to fight back.
Exploring Sustainable Living and Loving with Mogli
Musician and sustainability activist, Mogli’s course is designed to help you understand how your personal decisions impact other people and our planet. You’ll discover tips for building a healthier more sustainable relationship with yourself and the world around you, as well as tools to make life choices that work for you.
Exploring Intersectionality and What Makes you Unique with Kiddy Smile
The third course in this series is led by DJ, dancer, and activist, Kiddy Smile.
Through a study of self-expression and the interaction of social, economic, political, religious and gender differences, you’ll explore different versions of you, and how intersectionality influences systems of discrimination or disadvantage.
The final two courses in this trailblazing course series focus on mentorship and community change, and advocacy and allyship in the queer community. You’ll learn with horse-riding healing community and mentorship collective, Compton Cowboys, and model, actress, and LGBTQIA+ activist Indya Moore respectively.
