Welcome to our newest partner, the University of Dundee
Today we’re happy to welcome the University of Dundee as our newest academic partner. Dundee has particular strengths in life sciences and medical research, which will be good news if you’re interested in our growing portfolio of healthcare courses.
The university has some pretty impressive credentials:
- Its College of Life Sciences is one of the largest and most productive life sciences research institutes in Europe and has been recognised by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) Excellence with Impact awards for “Greatest Delivery of Impact.”
- The School of Medicine is one of the top rated in Europe, with an international reputation for innovation in medical education.
- The university is the central hub for a multi-million pound biotechnology sector in the east of Scotland, which now accounts for 16% of the local economy.
Dundee’s first course on FutureLearn will come from the School of Medicine. Designed to inform and empower healthcare professionals, it addresses one of the biggest threats to public health today – antibiotic resistance – and how this can be managed through the fast-growing field of antimicrobial stewardship.
