If the patient is not in immediate danger yet you think that there are high risk of danger what happens in the UK is that you will refer this case to something called the MARAC committee. And the MARAC committee is a Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference and during which a series of local actors including the police, child protection services, adult protection services come together to discuss high risk domestic violence cases. And what they do is they put together an action plan to decide the safest way of looking after that particular patient.
