‘Live’ panel discussion – the future of contracting.

Douglas and Tim explored the future of contracting on Thursday 14th May 2015 from 08:00 to 08:45 (GMT+1) with a panel of experts including:

  • Marc Bryant – Deputy Director of Commercial for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, UK Civil Service;
  • Karl Chapman – Chief Executive, Riverview Law (unfortunately technology didn’t allow Karl to join in);
  • Alan Day – Chairman and Founder, State of Flux (a global procurement and supply chain consultancy); and
  • Kai Jacob – Vice Chair Europe, Middle East & Africa Process Managers and Head of Global Contract Management Services, Legal Department Manager – SAP, Board Member of IACCM;

If you are not in the UK, you may find it helpful to use the World clock converter.

The video conference was streamed live on YouTube (better for those on mobile devices). The recording is also available from our YouTube channel.

Please join in!

You will be able to send questions and comments during the event by submitting them in the YouTube chat window (if you have a Google account) and by using the course hashtag #FLcontracts on Twitter, which we will monitor.

You may also send in questions prior to the Hangout by adding them in the comments on this step.

FAQs about the technology

What happens if I can’t watch the live discussion?

Don’t worry! Realtime participation is not a mandatory part of this course, but it is fun and we think you’d get a lot out of it. A recording of the discussion will be available at the same address above after the live event finishes. You can still make a contribution by leaving your question or comments on this step in advance, and we may include some of these in the discussion.

Will watching the live discussion mean I appear on camera?

No, you will just watch the live stream like any other video (though Google users can submit comments via the interface).

Is a Google account required to view the live discussion?

No, you can watch the Hangout without logging in to Google. If you wish to submit comments, please either use Twitter or post them on the ‘Live’ discussion step as above.
