For drinks, most of us prefer sweeten drinks or sugar-added drinks. No matter which type of your sugar choice is, added sugars are not good for health. Cane sugar is a common type of sugar that we consume. Fructose can be widely found in any market. Also, excessive sugar can cause toothache easily. If our body will consume excessive sugar those sugar will be turned into body fat. The intake of excessive sugar might cause weight gain and obesity. In addition, excessive sugar can cause visceral fat, a type of body fat that’s stored within the abdominal cavity wrapped around major organs like the liver.

Some food additives are obviously harmful to health. Food additives include food coloring, stabilizing, and preservatives. As you may already know that food additives are some macro-molecules and they melt in water easily. So, too many food additives might cause increased vascular volume, therefore, raising blood pressure, it might also burden renal excretion. Therefore, we should choose to eat fresh food as possible and reduce the intake of the processed food. In Asia culture, “all-you-can-eat” restaurants are popular. This type of restaurant can satisfy consumer’s desire of eating the most at the same price.

Furthermore, in Taiwan, people can get medicine at clinics or hospital very conviently Aside from treating medicine as a cure, medicinal wine and food therapy is also another type of our eating culture. In fact, the nutrition that our body cells require is from all kinds of nutrition, instead of medicine.

Medicine is used to control symptoms when we are ill but usually, we do not need to have too much medicine. I believe that relying too much on food therapy is not a healthy eating culture. Organic food and natural organic diet are popular in Taiwan. Organic food has advantages, for instance, non-persistent pesticide or less pesticide. However, the health of our body is not only relied only on upon organic food and natural organic diet to satisfy our body the nutrition needs, instead, it relies on various types of foods. Therefore, addiction to an organic diet without the proper guide might lead to imbalanced because of these wrongful choices.

At the countryside of Taiwan where the medical resource is scarce, people turn to incorrect medical superstition With no substantial medical research to support people believe drinking urine, swallowing black beans or fasting are good to health. It is important to consult a professional nutritionist to properly assess the demand for our health. Without proper health information, may lead you to more serious health problem.
