Filters part 2

Sujai explains further aspects of using filters in the BTK web viewer

In this video, Sujai explains how to use the Filters menu and the Tables view to display more detailed information about the different taxonomic groups that may be present in the assembly.

BTK uses a method called BUSCO to predict the taxonomy of different contigs. BUSCO stands for Benchmarking Universal Single Copy Orthologs, and is a tool for finding highly conserved genes at each relevant taxonomic level. As this species belongs to the order Pleosporales, class Dothediomycetes, phylum Ascomycota, kingdom Fungi, the BUSCO genes for each of these taxonomic groups are found and plotted. For a deeper understanding of how BUSCO works and how it can be used to assess the completeness of a genome assembly, see Manni et al, 2021.
