How HR enables and transforms organisations

Two business leaders (global representation) talking about how HR enables and transforms their organisation.

We mentioned before about the importance of context; HR is a function that needs to be responsive to the needs of the business, its challenges and opportunities.

Let’s now take a look at an example of this happening in practice, and consider some of the factors that can enable HR to make a difference. In this video we hear from Brad Taylor, Director of People at the CIPD.

Brad was part of a medium size organisation, based in the UK but operating across many different locations. The offices were being converted into residential flats, so the challenge was moving 250 people to a new space. However, this was also an opportunity to reimagine the working environment to one that enabled the business to function more effectively.

HR took a lead role in this change programme, bringing together different teams to design the new environment. The idea was to create a space that used technology to promote collaborative working, particularly between teams in different locations.
