Wow, you’re progressing very well. By now, you have learned the differences between inflow, throughflow, outflow and about the job design. How roles, responsibilities and job tasks have to be structured, modified or improved. Today, we will move further and we will learn about HRM systems. When you read the words HRM systems, what kind of associations do you get in your heads? Is it about information technologies that support HRM tasks? Or is it about routine tasks that support some HRM administration? I can understand these associations, but when I talk about HRM systems I mean a phenomena that is much bigger than an IT system or HRM routine task.
In this module, we will learn about HRM systems that are HRM philosophies, practices, policies. We will learn about the effect of HRM systems, we will learn about designing HRM systems and how to build them.

Prof. dr. Tanya Bondarouk is professor of HRM and Technology at the University of Twente. She is recognized as one of the founders of the new research area of HRM & Technology and published over a hundred articles about different aspects of an integration of HRM and Information Technology Implementations.
