You do not need to be an HRM professional to be able to reflect on these practices. And yet, I wonder how many of you observe that in some organizations you recruit new hires on the basis of the past performance, without connecting it with the existing HRM practices of career development.

For example, you have hired a unique talent that showed an extremely strong individual performance by his/her previous employer. But your rewards and recognition practices are based on team performance. It is not a drama yet, but obviously – there is a discrepancy that needs to be addressed.
