The technology revolution is just heating up in commercial kitchens and food establishments. The IoT and SMART technology has made it possible to connect our equipment and systems so that they increase efficiency and save costs. Not only that, but they have also made it possible to standardise products and ensure that food is produced consistently every time. Systems such as water and waste management have enabled us to contribute in a much greater way to sustainable practices.

Time and Attendance, Point of Sale Systems, Inventory Management, Maintenance, Food Safety and Management Systems can be interfaced so that we have a single view of our business which takes the old manual, stand alone, ways of working away and replaces them with seamless, non-labour-intensive ways.

New SMART technology solutions for cooking and food preparation are being introduced to the market all the time, making the chefs job easier, less paperwork and more time for the important aspects of the job such training and development, menu design and new product development.

Yes! Technology is often seen as something that will replace people in their jobs, but this is not the case, more likely is that jobs will change, and people will need to be reskilled to accommodate new technologies.

Introducing technology in your kitchen requires a well thought out implementation plan, ensuring that staff are well trained to use new technology, new ways of working are embedded into processes and change management applied to reduce resistance and improve get buy-in.
