Launching and growing a business in wellness

In this article, we will discuss what you can expect from this course.

In the previous courses in this ExpertTrack, we introduced you to the wellness industry, including the key sectors, trends, and driving forces behind its growth.

In this course, we’re looking at how to launch and grow a product-based business OR a service-based business. We’ll explore some examples of both so that you can see how this might look for you.

We’re going to look at the steps you need to take to formulate an idea (validated by the market) and how you can test these ideas so that they are backed up by real data and actual consumer demand, in order for you to feel confident in taking your idea to market.

We’re also going to consider which type of business to launch (product versus service) and look at some examples of each. In addition to this, we will look into solving real problems for your target consumer so that your business is robust and sustainable in the long-term. We will then dig into why you might want to start a business (and how this will motivate you to take big risks), as well as some of the critical planning steps to get you started.

In Week 2, you’ll start to get a sense of how you can finance your business ideas, how you can market your product or service, leverage partnerships, and adopt a bulletproof entrepreneurial mindset so that you can navigate the highs and lows of the rollercoaster ride that lies ahead.

Remember, this course is about understanding a potential career path that you might take now or in the future. In the course, Job Opportunities in Wellness, of this ExpertTrack, you’ll consider a third option that is available to you, which may be finding a job in the wellness industry by working for an existing wellness brand. There is no right or wrong path to take, but it helps to stay open-minded and explore which path inspires you most.

There has never been a better time to start a business in the wellness industry. If you’ve completed the first course in this track, you’ll know all about the growth of the global wellness industry and demand from consumers for better products and services to support a wellness lifestyle. Plus, you’re likely to have your own passion and enthusiasm for wellness, which is another great foundation.

However, we first need to know whether starting a business is the right path for you. That means considering all of the implications, challenges, considerations, and options that exist, so that if you do decide to launch and grow a business in wellness, you’ll make informed decisions and put yourself in the best possible position to succeed.
