Why do metrics matter?

What do we measure to measure impact? In this article, Professor Gideon Maas introduces views from entrepreneurs.

The notion of measuring activities is not new to us, we do it every day. For example, when keeping track of how much we’re eating, drinking or spending on groceries.

As entrepreneurs, we measure how much time we spend on activities, how much money we have left at the end of the month and whether we have enough innovative ideas.

Metrics matter more than ever, but why?
