Sarcopenia is a progressive and generalized skeletal muscle disorder involving the accelerated loss of muscle mass and function that is associated with increased adverse outcomes including falls, functional decline, frailty, and mortality.

Based on the definition, a sarcopenia diagnosis is confirmed by the presence of low muscle quantity or quality, such as muscle mass, muscle strength, and physical performance. There are many different clinical tests for sarcopenia. Professor Yang will explain the flow chart for screening and diagnosis of sarcopenia.
