Meet the Educators

Wendy Thompson is a clinical academic general dentist at the University of Manchester, UK. Her research is about urgent dental care, with a focus on antibiotics. She is a Council member of the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

Mahesh Verma is Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He is chair of the FDI World Dental Federation Science Committee’s working group on antibiotic resistance.

Vanessa Carter is an antibiotic resistance advocate, Stanford Medicine X 2017 ePatient scholar, founder of Healthcare Communications and Social Media South Africa as well as Africa CDC Civil Society Champion.

Leanne Teoh is a pharmacist and dentist at the University of Melbourne in Australia. Her research focus is on therapeutics in dentistry and dental antibiotic stewardship.

Erick Venant is a pharmacist by profession working as a founder and chief executive officer at RBA Initiative a NGO based in Tanzania with special focus to curb antimicrobial resistance.

Julie Guillet is the Head of the Oral Department at the Nancy Regional and University Hospital Centre (CHRU). Her research interests are the Human Papillomaviruses and the fight against AMR.

Katie Suda is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Suda’s research interests include antimicrobial pharmacoepidemiology and effectiveness of antibiotic stewardship strategies.

Shaun Howe is a dental therapist working in a Public Dental Service in Scotland. He has been working in dentistry since 1991 and has worked in the armed forces, private, NHS and salaried services.

Hendrik Donker graduated as a dentist at the Utrecht State University in The Netherlands. He is the vice-president of the Royal Dutch Dental Association and boardmember of the CED (Council of European Dentists).
